NP ArtLab is pleased to present Where the Light Burns (Dove brucia la Luce), a duo exhibition bringing the research of Matteo Capriotti (b. 1996, Giulianova) and Francesca Mirabile (b. 1997, Bergamo) into dialogue for the first time. Curated and introduced by a text by Federico Montagna, the exhibition features a series of previously unreleased works that investigate the concept of Love in its most visceral and primordial sense: a fire that blazes and rages in the dark.
The exhibition’s title suggests a tension that is simultaneously dramatic and luminous. Through painting, photography, and sculpture, the two artists explore the feeling of love not as a pure abstraction, but as a force that consumes and reveals, moving between the autobiographical and the symbolic dimensions.
Capriotti’s pictorial research focuses on intimacy. In his paintings, scenes of embraces and amorous displays are charged with an emotionality that struggles to remain confined within the edges of the canvas. Mirabile shifts the inquiry toward memory and passion understood as absolute dedication. Her starting point is the story of volcanologists Katia and Maurice Krafft, whose lives were a single, uninterrupted journey toward the abyss of the craters.
