Giulio Polloniato

Born in Bassano del Grappa (VI) in 1996, Giulio Polloniato started his art studies at Liceo Artistico G. De Fabris di Nove (VI) and then he received a scholarship from Fondazione Roi Vicenza focusing on traditional decor in Nove (2016-2017).

He graduated from Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, atelier di Decorazione B with prof. Gaetano Mainenti, of whom he is his assistant now. From 2016 he lives in Venice, in 2020 he opens his studio at the core of the island with young artists and curators.

In 2017 he won the 1° Prize for ceramics decor at Concorso Irene Larcher Fogazzaro;  in 2018 he received the first Prize at Concorso Internazionale di Ceramica di Montelupo Fiorentino “Scultura giornaliera”; in 2019 he won the critic award at Contest StArt at Arte Fiera in Padova; in 2020 he received the award “Mostra personale” at the contest Mediterraneo XXVII in Grottaglie.

The research of Giulio Polloniato is strictly linked to the material. Through the use of ceramic, the artist regains objects belonging to everyday life to investigate concepts of time and memory. This timeless material, because of its intrinsic and aesthetic characteristics, becomes Polloniato’s favorite medium to obtain a balanced result according to elements like space, form and content.
