Mengfan Wang
Mengfan Wang is an artist and photographer, born in 2000 in Beijing, China. She currently lives, works, and studies in Bologna.
She obtained her BA in Editorial Graphic Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and is now completing her MA in Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.
Her artistic practice is guided by feminist and gender studies, a filter through which she uses photography as a form of visual expression to narrate autobiographical experiences. Her images explore themes such as growth, memory, the relationship between humans and nature, intimacy, and power structures. Her projects are created using analog photography, developed in the darkroom, often incorporating various form of experimentation.
