Marco Maria Zanin




Marco Maria Zanin, artist and researcher, was born in Padua in 1983. He lives and works between Padua and Lisbon, where he is currently a PhD student in Anthropology at ISCTE/NOVA. He graduated first in Literature and Philosophy and then in International Relations at the University of Padua. He embarked on his artistic career in 2010 while carrying out transdisciplinary research activities straddling different humanistic subjects.His most significant solo exhibitions include: Parentele di terra (2021), curated by Matteo Lucchetti, at the Galleria Spazio Nuovo in Rome; Strati di tempo nella Chiesa di Sant'Agnese (2020) at the Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice; Le Opere e i Giorni (2019) curated by Antonio Grulli, at the Musei Civici in Bassano; Arzana (2019) curated by Domenico De Chirico, at the Marignana Arte gallery in Venice; As Obras e os Dias (2017), curated by Jacopo Crivelli Visconti at the Pivo Arte e Pesquisa in São Paulo, Brazil; Dio è nei frammenti (2017) curated by Daniele de Luigi, at the Galleria Civica in Modena.
His works are contained in public and private collections in different parts of the world, including MART in Rovereto, Museo Morandi in Bologna, MAM in Rio de Janeiro, Salsali Museum in Dubai, Galleria Civica in Modena. In 2015, he is the founder of Humus Interdisciplinary, an international platform that organises artistic residencies in order to activate cultural heritages in rural areas, using contemporary art as a tool for re-signification.
